West Ham United ‘front of the queue’ to sign Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke

West Ham United are “at the front of the queue” to sign Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke in the January transfer window, according to FootballTransfers.

Writing on their website (2 January), the news outlet report that the Hammers are the club that have made their interest the most known in the former Chelsea academy graduate.

While a move isn’t said to be close, Arsenal and Chelsea’s reported interest is said to be overstated currently too which leaves the Irons with a clear run should they choose to make their move.

West Ham United

“West Ham United are Dominic Solanke’s keenest suitors, FootballTransfers has been told,” they wrote.

“The Bournemouth striker has been on fire this season and this has attracted the attention of Premier League rivals keen to bolster their frontline. Sources have informed FootballTransfers that West Ham are at the front of the queue when it comes to Dominic Solanke.

“David Moyes’ Hammers have registered the most interest in signing him, we can reveal. As for Arsenal, who have also been credited with a supposed keenness to snap up the ex-Chelsea and Liverpool striker, we are told that there is nothing concrete to those rumours at this stage.”

Dream

Solanke would undoubtedly be the dream striker signing for West Ham right now, for Moyes and for what the team needs.

The Cherries forward has hit 12 Premier League goals this season, only less than Erling Haaland, and has found a new lease of life under Andoni Iraola.

West Ham

With Michail Antonio struggling for fitness and impact on the pitch and Danny Ings horribly out of place for the Hammers since joining from Aston Villa last January, a new full-time striker and reliable goalscorer is a necessity.

Jarrod Bowen has done brilliantly there as a makeshift striker but he is far better on the wing, and moving him back there would allow for Mohammed Kudus to move to his preferred role on the left and Lucas Paqueta to move central.

It won’t be easy and will likely be expensive to do too, but if there’s a chance then the club must be ready to act.

In other West Ham news, key player may be allowed to leave this month amid Saudi interest says Dharmesh Sheth.
