Danny Ings and Michail Antonio could leave West Ham United in 2024

Danny Ings and Michail Antonio could both leave West Ham United in 2024 as Tim Steidten looks to bolster the forward area, according to 90min.

Writing on their official website (23 October), the news outlet report that technical director Steidten wants to strengthen the attacking area of the pitch going forward.

And that could mean Antonio and Ings could leave the club in January or in the summer with both failing to lead the line enough to convince those upstairs that they don’t need to enter the market.

“Technical director Tim Steidten is looking to bolster a strike force that is currently relying on Michail Antonio and Danny Ings – both of whom could depart the club next year,” they wrote.

Obvious

There is a clear weakness in the West Ham squad right now and that is that number nine position.

Antonio and Ings have both struggled to be prolific goalscorers under David Moyes, which has seen Jarrod Bowen step up to the mantle as the main talisman for the side.

But adding a genuine goalscorer to the side to help Bowen and win vital points out of nothing could be the difference between us battling for a European place or battling for a Champions League place.

Antonio and Ings are both in their 30’s now and on their way down in their career, and we know Moyes is keen to add a new dimension to his attack after he signed Gianluca Scamacca last year only for the deal to fail.

However it’s clear that he knows there is a weakness and with the way that Steidten’s signings from the summer are performing right now, giving him the freedom to find someone to fill that role could be the right thing to do.
