How Nuno showed West Ham fans how much he cares as recent footage re-examined
Phil Brown is a big fan of West Ham United boss Nuno Espirito Santo.
The Hammers have enjoyed a week in the Championship, which has really boosted the mood at the London Stadium.
Last week, the Irons routed Lincoln City 6-0 at Sincil Bank in a game that saw the hosts have two players sent off in the first half.
West Ham followed that up with a massively important 1-0 win at table-toppers Swansea City, with Divine Mukasa scoring the only goal of the game.
It leaves West Ham just a point adrift of the table-topping Swans, and absolutely brimming with confidence right now.
Brown was speaking about West Ham and Nuno on Sky Sports' EFL Show segment, and gave his thoughts on some recent footage involving the gaffer.
Phil Brown can relate to Nuno footage he's shown in West Ham vs Lincoln
Former Hull City boss Phil Brown was famously gave his Tigers players a dressing down on the pitch at half-time.
His side were being battered by Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, and opted to do his team-talk in front of supporters.
Nuno was spotted talking to his Hammers players on the pitch in the Lincoln rout, when his side were only winning 1-0 at the break.
When shown the footage, Brown said of it: "I like the fella.
"It sort of, not exposes the team, I think it was 0-0 at the time (it was 1-0), but Lincoln were down to nine men from the 22nd minute and obviously in the ensuing minutes in the remainder of that first half, they didn't show what Nuno wanted to show.
"It's just showing the punters that you care, we should be winning this game and they eventually went on to win the game."
Earlier in the segment, Brown was told of West Ham's form this season, and asked what he makes of the Hammers.
Brown replied: "It stinks of character first and foremost, everyone's talking about the teams that came down the Premier League last season are they automatic favourites to go back up?
"They've had a shaky start some of them but I've had the pleasure of seeing West Ham on a couple of occasions, one of them was a 3-2 win at Bolton a couple of weeks back.
"It was a good, solid, strong performance. It looks like they've got the character of the team all sorted, they've got the quality, but the character of the team as well and that's important when you're playing for West Ham."
The Hammers now have games against Southampton, West Brom, Cardiff City, and Blackburn Rovers before the international break.
Nuno will be looking to take plenty of points from those four fixtures to really cement themselves as challengers for automatic promotion.
He won't be looking too far ahead, of course, but the Hammers are in a good spot and it is important to maintain this momentum.
