West Ham United are flying after a superb week in the Championship.

The Hammers battered Lincoln City 6-0 at Sincil Bank last week, albeit the hosts had two players sent off in the first half.

West Ham then backed that up with a hard-fought 1-0 win at table-toppers Swansea City on Saturday.

Divine Mukasa scored the only goal of the game in South Wales, as West Ham moved to within one point of Vitor Matos' side.

There is not let up for West Ham, who are preparing to host Southampton at the London Stadium this Saturday.

Former Millwall striker Kevin Lisbie was a guest on Sky Sports' EFL Show segment, and made a "massive" admission about West Ham.

West Ham's back-to-back wins felt especially important in the context of back-to-back draws with rivals Millwall and Queens Park Rangers.

The Irons are now nine matches unbeaten in the second tier, with six wins and three draws in that time.

The first topic on the EFL Show was about West Ham's victory over Swansea City and their general form.

Lisbie labelled the victory over Swansea a statement victory from the Hammers.

He said it was a particularly impressive victory given he had seen Swansea defeat Millwall just a few days earlier.

"I think that Swansea one was a massive statement," Lisbie said.

"I watched Swansea last week against Millwall and they were decent, they got a late goal and won that game. It takes some doing to go up there, they're on a good run as well."

Nuno won't allow West Ham to let up

West Ham are a fantastic run in the second tier, but Nuno Espirito Santo will ensure there is no let up from his side.

The Hammers have four games before the next international break, with matches against Southampton, West Brom, Cardiff City, and Blackburn Rovers to come.

It is a tricky run of fixtures, but West Ham have shown there is plenty of character in this team to go alongside the undoubted quality there is for the second tier.

If they can get to that next break still in the top two spots, then they will be in a superb position ahead of the hectic run up to and including Christmas.

But the Swansea win did certainly feel like a statement given how Vitor Matos' side have started the season.
