Tomas Soucek has ‘decision to make’ this summer as West Ham United future questioned
West Ham United midfielder Tomas Soucek will have ‘a decision to make’ this summer if a Champions League club comes in for him, according to journalist Paul Brown.
Soucek has enjoyed a fine season for the Hammers this season, making 45 appearances in all competitions and scoring six goals.
But if those performances aren’t enough to earn Champions League football at the London Stadium next season, Daily Star journalist Brown told GiveMeSport that he’d likely be tempted.

“Soucek is definitely happy at the club,” he said. “He likes the players and the manager. He has enjoyed his time there.
“If a bigger team in the Champions League were to come in for him, he would have a decision to make.”
Soucek has reportedly seen talks to extend his contract postponed until the end of the season, with his current deal set to expire in the summer of 2024.
Dangerous
This is a dangerous game that West Ham are playing, with both of their current central midfield options that have got them so far potentially entertaining the idea of leaving.
Declan Rice’s future is up in the air and he will eventually leave the club, that much is clear. But Soucek’s possible exit would really throw a spanner in the works of their summer plans.

If the club fail to win the Europa League this season then they will spend another season without Champions League football, and considering how well the team has been playing top clubs will be paying attention.
The Hammers don’t need the money so they can demand whatever fee they like, but they run the risk of having unhappy players in the squad which will affect morale.
That will end up affecting performances too and will only make reaching the Champions League harder going forward, so it may not be only Soucek with a decision to make.
