Matthias Jaissle update drops as West Ham eye new manager

Al-Ahli manager Matthias Jaissle is being considered by West Ham in case Julen Lopetegui is sacked, according to Give Me Sport.

The news outlet reported on 5 December that key decision makers at the London Stadium have discussed hiring the 36-year-old German manager.

However, the Hammers are yet to initiate contact with the former RB Salzburg manager.

Matthias Jaissle may be a gamble for West Ham

The 36-year-old has been a senior manager for the last three seasons only so the lack of experience makes this a gamble.

While it has worked with some clubs and managers in the past, usually, it has not proven to be particularly successful at the level.

That being said, he’s known to play an expansive style of football and has won two league titles with RB Salzburg.

However, he’s yet to test himself in any of Europe’s top leagues and that’s something that might work against him.

Julen Lopetegui also did not arrive to much fanfare even though he was known by the supporters.

Jaissle is unlikely to be a name that rings too many bells among the London Stadium faithful and it’s imperative they hire someone who could quickly win over the fans.

In other West Ham news, Jarrod Bowen told his Hammers teammate he was disrespectful amid chaos behind the scenes.
