West Ham United hold talks with Karim Adeyemi agents with transfer ready

West Ham United have held talks with the representatives of Karim Adeyemi about a summer transfer, according to HITC.

Writing on their website (16 July), the news outlet reports that the German forward is keen to leave Borussia Dortmund after making more appearances from the substitutes bench than he did from starting positions.

His agents have now held talks with several Premier League clubs about a potential move to England including the Hammers, Chelsea, Tottenham and Newcastle.

West Ham United to sign Karim Adeyemi?

The Hammers know they need to find new attacking options this summer, and Adeyemi could be a shrewd bit of business.

The Germany international was one of the standout performers in the Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid, with his lightning speed catching the eye of many fans and pundits alike.

But his goal record last season was poor, netting just five times in all competitions, and Julen Lopetegui will need far more than that to make a deal make sense.

West Ham have held talks about signing Karim Adeyemi.

However, his ability to play on either wing or through the middle would add to some tactical flexibility and alongside Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta he could form part of a formidable attacking unit.

With Michail Antonio wanted by Saudi and MLS clubs [Athletic, 15 May] and several forwards linked to West Ham, there are likely legs in this story.

A fee isn’t mentioned but transfers are expected at the London Stadium and Tim Steidten has a great knowledge of Germany, so this is certainly one to watch in the coming weeks.

In other West Ham news, talks are ongoing for a new transfer as an £18m deal was agreed.
