Jamie Carragher predicts result of David Moyes final West Ham United home clash v Luton Town

Jamie Carragher has made his prediction for David Moyes’ final home game in charge when West Ham take on Luton on Saturday May 11.

The Hammers were thrashed 5-0 by Chelsea last time out, which saw the club accelerate talks with Moyes and agree to part ways at the end of the season, with Julen Lopetegui expected to take over in the summer.

But Moyes still has two games in charge before he leaves, and while making his Sky Super 6 predictions (9 May), Carragher backed the Scot to bow out at the London Stadium with a 2-1 victory over relegation-battling Luton.

West Ham United fans owe David Moyes a brilliant send-off

There’s nothing to play for in the remaining two games of the season for West Ham, with European football now off the table and no cups remaining to fight for.

But Moyes will want to sign off his tenure in style rather than sinking, and recent performances that have seen the team struggle was largely attributed to the uncertainty surrounding his future.

However, with his exit now confirmed and everyone knowing this is the final time he will take charge of the team at home before he leaves, the mood should be very different.

Moyes is the most successful manager of the modern era for the Hammers, bringing silverware to the club after 40 years without any, and also adding European football for three consecutive seasons.

He deserves a proper send off and to be celebrated before his exit. Fans will make sure he gets that, and the players should too by turning in a performance to prove Carragher right and earn the three points.
