West Ham United in talks with three managers to replace David Moyes as boss

West Ham United are currently in talks with Fulham boss Marco Silva and two other managers about replacing David Moyes this summer, according to O Jogo.

Writing on their website (24 April), the Portuguese news outlet report there will be no further talks between the Hammers and Ruben Amorim after he was uninterested in the project they offered him during a meeting in London on Monday 22 April.

But the Irons are continuing to look at options to replace Moyes as he looks set to leave at the end of his contract with Julen Lopetegui, Lille boss Paulo Fonseca and Silva all “in talks” with the club about a move this summer.

David Moyes to leave West Ham United

It now seems inevitable that Moyes will be leaving the London Stadium after five years, and while he has done a great job it is certainly the right decision.

But the next big decision will be about who is going to replace him, as the board cannot afford to get that wrong after the way it went when they brought in Manuel Pellegrini last time.

Lopetegui has got great pedigree having managed Spain, Real Madrid and Wolves in the Premier League and did a great job, while he also loves to play attacking football. The same can be said for Silva and Fonseca, but both of those men are currently in jobs.

Signing a striker is one of Julen Lopetegui’s main priorities at West Ham this summer

If the club want to be a bit cheap then Lopetegui represents a great option, however without European football next season it may be a difficult job to convince him to come in.

But with talks on with several candidates, the board are clearly making sure they take everything into account ahead of the season ending which can only be a good thing.

In other West Ham news, the club have targeted another league-winning manager to replace Moyes after Amorim’s snub.
