Roy Keane dismayed at West Ham this week as new Premier League relegation prediction made

Roy Keane can’t believe what he’s seen from West Ham United as the relegation battle hots up.

The Hammers are five games away from knowing their fate after a difficult campaign in the Premier League.

A drop into the Championship remains a possibility at this stage, with Tottenham and Nottingham Forest also fighting to retain their top-tier status.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side remain outside the bottom three by two points and are looking ahead to another weekend of action.

West Ham will face Everton at the London Stadium, while Tottenham will face Wolves as Keane shares his thoughts on the Irons and their place in the relegation battle.

Roy Keane baffled by terrible West Ham draw vs Crystal Palace

The claret and blue outfit are in desperate need of points as they look to build a gap to Spurs inside the bottom three.

They missed an opportunity against Crystal Palace as the East London outfit travelled across the capital for a bore draw at Selhurst Park.

There was very little positive to say about the encounter in Croydon, as a lack of quality was on show for all to see.

Konstantinos Mavropanos had about the best chance for the away side, which almost sums up how poor Monday evening’s clash was.

That wasn’t lost on Keane as he looked ahead to the weekend’s fixtures on Stick to Football, but not before slating the Hammers and the Eagles.

He said: “How bad was that game, West Ham against Palace? Wow.”

West Ham picked up a point at Selhurst Park, so that is something, but there won’t be many who disagree with the former Manchester United man.

Keane shares Premier League relegation prediction

The Irishman is obviously famed for being scathing, but he is spot on with his verdict of that most recent Irons outing.

There is still hope that Nuno can drag his side away from the Championship, but there is certainly stern competition at this stage.

Both Tottenham and Nottingham Forest are in the race and will want to remain in the Premier League themselves.

West Ham relegation zone Premier League table

Keane has backed Spurs to somehow pull away from the bottom three, while suggesting a straight shootout between the other two.

He said: “They showed a bit of fight, a bit of energy. They’ve got lads coming back. Spurs will be fine. I still think Forest, I just worry about their games against Villa [in the Europa League]. West Ham or Forest [will go down].”

The Irons will certainly hope to avoid the drop and maintain their recent positive form to step clear of Tottenham and Forest in the coming days and weeks.
