West Ham player ratings vs Crystal Palace – Axel Disasi colossal, Tomas Soucek like Bambi on ice
West Ham United battled hard for a point against Crystal Palace in a cagey affair at Selhurst Park on Monday.
Nuno Espirito Santo named an unnamed starting eleven, but the Hammers weren’t able to replicate their magic against Wolves last time out as they settled for a 0-0 draw.
Taty Castellanos came close with a couple of efforts in the first 45, with Konstantinos Mavropanos also having a headed effort saved by Dean Henderson to deny an opener.
Ultimately, the Irons didn’t create anywhere near enough chances to earn a victory, but a draw is still another result to build on.
West Ham remain in the relegation battle with the draw and are two points ahead of Spurs, who occupy the final spot in the Premier League drop zone.

Axel Disasi on top form again vs Palace
Axel Disasi has been a revelation of a signing for West Ham, and the Hammers would like to keep him beyond this season.
That will, of course, depend on the Hammers’ ability to stay in the Premier League, and that may just happen thanks to another big performance from the Frenchman.
| Area of game | Stats |
| Minutes played | 90′ |
| Pass accuracy | 83% |
| Dribble success | 100% |
| Tackles | 3 |
| Ground duels (won) | 5 (5) |
Disasi won 100 per cent of his ground duels against the Eagles, displaying great composure with the ball at his feet once more, with an 83 per cent accuracy.
The 28-year-old also made two tackles along with 13 defensive contributions in total, completing two dribbles out of two in the process.

As highlighted in the graph above, Disasi earned a 7.8 FotMob rating, which was the joint highest of any West Ham player.
Tomas Soucek offered West Ham nothing
Tomas Soucek has had some unfair treatment at the London Stadium during his time with the Hammers, but he deserves to be called out after a performance like that.
The big man has never been pretty on the eye, but his effectiveness keeps him as a West Ham fan favourite; however, he offered the Hammers nothing against Oliver Glasner’s side.
- Soucek won just 40% of his ground duels
- He completed none of his dribble attempts successfully
- The 31-year-old had just one touch in Palace’s box
Soucek had a 0 per cent dribble success rate, showing a lack of control with the ball at his feet, and didn’t make up for that with a low 40 per cent ground duel win rate.
He got stuck in and made two tackles, but he is there to also offer some type of goal threat, which he did not.

The Czech Republic international averages over a shot per game, and a goal every 0.21 times per 90 minutes, but he came nowhere near against Crystal Palace.
