Speculation at the London Stadium has quietened following a mini-resurgence in 2026 under Nuno Espirito Santo. Despite a turbulent start to his tenure, Nuno has shown he can galvanise the squad, having led them into the FA Cup quarter-finals – where a disappointing loss to Leeds United followed – and got some crucial Premier League points on the board.

Nuno was not appointed to win silverware this season, but to guide the Hammers to safety instead. And as long as he achieves that mission, there is absolutely no reason why the Portuguese will not stay in position at the London Stadium for a while longer yet.

The Hammers are two points clear of the bottom three and Tottenham with only five games left to play, with everything now on the line.

As long as the threat of relegation lingers, though, the ‘next manager’ market remains a topic of conversation.

Who has previously been linked with West Ham job?

Before Nuno’s appointment earlier this season, Slaven Bilic was the favourite of many to take over at the London Stadium. Kieran McKenna, currently in work at Ipswich Town, is another who was mentioned, as were Enzo Maresca and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
