Brentford vs West Ham: Nuno confirms ‘small knocks’ as six could miss out at Gtech
Brentford are set to play host to West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday, with the sides having contrasting injury issues.
The Hammers are hoping to continue their efforts to stay in the division after sealing a late win against Everton last time around.
That has instilled fresh hope that the claret and blue outfit can finish above Tottenham and avoid the drop to the Championship.
Things certainly won’t be easy when travelling to face Keith Andrews’ side, as they will be eager to get three points to add to their European qualification bid.
West Ham and Brentford both need to win for different reasons as we now assess the injury latest ahead of the Gtech Community Stadium meeting.

West Ham in good shape with injuries
There is so much riding on every remaining fixture for the Irons that they can’t afford to be at anything but their best.
That has to follow into a clash with the Bees, an away day that has been typically tough since their promotion to the Premier League
| Date | Competition | Result |
| 28/09/24 | Premier League | Brentford 1-1 West Ham |
| 04/11/23 | Premier League | Brentford 3-2 West Ham |
| 14/05/23 | Premier League | Brentford 2-0 West Ham |
| 07/01/23 | FA Cup | Brentford 0-1 West Ham |
| 10/04/22 | Premier League | Brentford 2-0 West Ham |
The Hammers last won away to the West London side in January 2023, but that was in the FA Cup, as the E20 side are yet to win a league game at the Gtech Community Stadium.
If they are to change that record, they will need all of their best players to be on song, and that is exactly what Nuno Espirito Santo may get.
The Portuguese head coach has spoken out about the fitness of his squad, saying: “We have some small knocks, but it seems like everyone is going to be OK for the weekend.”
Only Lukasz Fabianski looks set to miss out on the derby clash as the Irons have given themselves the best chance of winning.
Brentford potentially without five vs West Ham
Things aren’t as rosy for Andrews and Co. as both Fabio Carvalho and Antoni Milambo will certainly miss out due to long-term issues.
There are also problems for Vitaly Janelt, Rico Henry and Jordan Henderson to contend with before the Hammers come to town.
Reports suggest that the left-back will certainly miss the clash as he continues to struggle with a thigh injury.
The Brentford boss has a decision to make over the fitness of Henderson and Janelt, with both “pretty close” to a return.
The Hammers will hope this disruption will go in their favour in what will be yet another massive weekend in the relegation battle.
