Now, Marca journalist Matteo Moretto has claimed via X on Sunday that Roma are launching a second offer for the 24-year-old.
The report does not outline how much Roma are this time willing to offer for Summerville.
However, the Serie A side are surely not too far off West Ham's valuation for Summerville, whatever that might be.
The release clause in Summerville's contract expires on Tuesday, with that reported to be set below £42.5m.
Roma know they are in a race against time to snap up Summerville ahead of other teams, so this next offer has to be one West Ham cannot say no to.

Summerville was superb for a spell last season, but ultimately he lacked consistency over the duration of the whole campaign.
