West Ham United have to limit Kevin Schade’s impact on their game against Brentford, as the winger has been excellent for the Bees this season.

A London derby awaits West Ham on Saturday, as Nuno Espirito Santo takes his side to the Gtech Community Stadium for a clash with Brentford.

The Hammers are in strong form over recent games, with two wins and one draw from their last three Premier League outings.

Meanwhile, Brentford are in the midst of a six-game winless run in the league, and as such, are now at risk of falling out of the race for European football.

West Ham need a positive result against Brentford with a tough final three games in store afterwards, but in order to do so, nullifying the Bees’ attacking threats is going to prove quite a challenge.

As per FotMob, Schade has an expected goals (xG) of 11.1 and a non-penalty xG of 10.3 in the league this season, both of which are the highest of any left-winger in the top flight this season.

He’s also won 174 duels and 78 aerial duels, which are both again the most of any Premier League left-winger in 2025-26.

On top of this, he’s created 28 chances, taken 51 shots with 22 on target, has 23 headed shot attempts, has taken 128 touches in the opposition box and has won two penalties.

In the defensive side of his game, Schade has recorded 36 tackles, 18 interceptions, made 88 recoveries and has registered a total of 173 defensive contributions – in short, he’s absolutely everywhere for Brentford.

So, as much as West Ham need to focus on stopping Thiago on Saturday, they must spend equally as much preparation time on conjuring up a plan to nullify Schade.

He’s well overdue a goal too, with his last coming against Burnley in a 4-3 win on 28 February this year.
