Brentford vs West Ham: Supercomputer predicts outcome in Premier League showdown
Brentford host West Ham United in West London on Saturday, with the visitors desperate to boost their hopes of survival.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side claimed a dramatic and potentially pivotal victory over Everton last weekend, as Callum Wilson fired home in stoppage time to send the London Stadium into raptures.
The result returned the Hammers to winning ways after a goalless draw at Crystal Palace, though they remain only two points clear of the relegation zone.
There is now an opportunity to widen that cushion over the weekend, with victory putting pressure on Tottenham, who travel to Aston Villa on Sunday and would need a win of their own.
As the latest round of fixtures approaches, Opta’s supercomputer has offered its verdict on whether West Ham can secure another vital result on the road.

Supercomputer drops verdict ahead of Brentford clash
Having beaten Brentford only once since the Bees’ promotion in 2021, West Ham do not boast the strongest record against Saturday’s opponents.
There are, however, reasons for encouragement. Earlier this year, the Hammers saw off the west London side on penalties to book their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
| Likelihood | |
| Brentford win | 54.4% |
| Draw | 23.4% |
| West Ham win | 22.2% |
Looking ahead to the weekend’s meeting, West Ham are considered the underdogs by Opta, whose supercomputer gives them a 22.2 per cent chance of victory.
Keith Andrews’ Brentford remain firmly in the hunt for European football and, with that in mind, it is no surprise they have been installed as favourites.
Yet West Ham claimed a valuable result against fellow European hopefuls Everton last time out and will travel across London with renewed confidence.
What are West Ham’s survival chances?
West Ham’s 4-0 demolition of Wolves earlier this month lifted the Hammers out of the bottom three for the first time in 2026.
It took Nuno time to find his feet in the dugout, but he has since engineered a remarkable revival. The Irons have looked a different side since that 2-1 victory over Tottenham in January.
Now it is Spurs, their old rivals, who are locked in the scrap beneath them, with West Ham holding a two-point advantage over the Lilywhites.

And if the final Opta prediction is correct, that is how it may stay.
The supercomputer is forecasting a 17th-place finish for West Ham, enough to preserve their Premier League status at the expense of one of their fiercest rivals – a twist that would only add to the significance of this relegation battle.
On the numbers, Nuno’s side have been given a 38.03 per cent chance of going down, compared with 58.72 per cent for Spurs.
With four matches left, 12 points remain on offer, and victory on Saturday would take West Ham a significant step closer to securing another season of top-flight football in East London.
