Djed Spence sends one-word message as West Ham star Crysencio Summerville makes big announcement
Djed Spence has reached out to West Ham United winger Crysencio Summerville.
The two were major rivals in the Premier League this season as the relegation battle went down to the final day.
Tottenham ultimately came out victorious after securing a final-day victory over Everton, rendering the Irons’ win against Leeds United pointless.
That means the Hammers will be playing Championship football next season, with plenty of questions now surrounding their number seven.
Summerville could soon depart West Ham, but for now, he has bigger things on his mind as Spence speaks out.

Djed Spence reacts as West Ham star Crysencio Summerville earns World Cup call-up
The 24-year-old was up there with the best players in claret and blue this season, even with relegation coming as the end result.
The attacker played a key role in trying to drag his side away from the drop zone, but it just wasn’t enough in the end.
| Stat (Premier League 25/26) | Crysencio Summerville |
| Appearances | 31 |
| Goals | 5 |
| Assists | 2 |
| Chances created | 28 |
| Successful dribbles | 51 |
That has clearly made a positive impression on Ronald Koeman ahead of the summer as he included him in his Netherlands squad for the World Cup.
Summerville will soon travel to North America with the Oranje for the showpiece tournament, something which he has always dreamed of.
He took to Instagram on Friday to share his thoughts on the call-up as he wrote: “As a kid, you can only dream of moments like this. As a man, you work hard to chase them.
“Proud to be given the opportunity to represent my country on the biggest stage in the world.”
That was met with an instant reply from Spurs ace Spence, who replied with one word: “BELIEVE”.
Summerville could now eye a West Ham exit, but for now, many are left to question why a Tottenham player would leave such a message on a rival’s post.
Why has Spence commented on Summerville’s post?
It does seem strange, looking at it from a current angle, that a regular from the Lilywhites would have contact with an Irons ace after the relegation battle.
The North London club sent the E20 outfit to the Championship, so people may expect any bridges between the two sides to be burned.
That clearly isn’t the case for Summerville and Spence, largely because their link predated the Dutchman’s move to the London Stadium.

The duo featured together in the Championship for Leeds United after the defender joined on a short-term loan deal from August 2023 to January 2024.
It appears that they generated a positive relationship in that short period and one that has lasted several years, even while they play for direct rivals.
