Maximilian Hahn the first domino to fall as ‘high-profile departures’ on cards at West Ham
Maximilian Hahn’s departure from West Ham United is expected to be the first of many.
The Hammers’ relegation from the Premier League is set to lead to significant changes on and off the pitch.
There will be much speculation about their players, but the backroom staff is also ripe for turnover, too, and Hahn could be just the first domino to fall.
A report from The Athletic on 1 June claims that the head of recruitment is the first of the “high-profile departures” that are expected in the coming months.
West Ham fans will be concerned after the German’s exit, and rightfully so, as his recruitment record is solid.

How is the recruitment team affected?
West Ham’s recruitment team has struggled in recent years, but Hahn is credited with bringing in the likes of Mateus Fernandes, El Hadji Malick Diouf, Crysencio Summerville and loanee Axel Disasi.
The report claims that they tried to convince him to stay put and that other noticeable departures are not expected to happen within the recruitment team.
| Hahn’s influence at West Ham | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Mateus Fernandes | 42 | 5 | 5 |
| El Hadji Malick Diouf | 32 | 0 | 5 |
| Crysencio Summerville | 34 | 7 | 5 |

That currently consists of Mark Noble, Georges Santos, Adam Clarke, Simon Gillett, Dylan Curnell, and Antonio Tramontano, with the Irons looking for a new director of football.
What changes are on cards at West Ham?
There is expected to be a huge summer overhaul in East London, with most of it happening on the pitch.
The likes of Jarrod Bowen, Konstantinos Mavropanos, Summerville and Fernandes are all understood to be considering their futures in E20.
Whoever takes over the head of recruitment role will have a huge job on their hands, building a squad that is capable of earning an immediate promotion back to the top-flight.
It is expected to be Curnell, who is currently in a recruitment analyst role with the London Stadium outfit and faces a big challenge to step up.

He will have to raise approximately £150million in sales before making additions that can make the required impact in the Championship.
The Hammers and Curnell have to get it right, or they could be stuck in the second tier for years to come, which will only increase fan fury.
Hanh’s exit could prove to be very significant if his successor struggles to make the right moves.
