West Ham want to sign Georginio Wijnaldum – report
West Ham want to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum this summer after he failed to get regular football, according to Sport.
The Dutch midfielder joined the French giants on a free transfer after leaving Liverpool at the end of his contract, but has so far struggled to become a mainstay in Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Wijnaldum has started just 13 Ligue 1 games so far this season and has often been left on the bench, with the likes of Leandro Paredes and Idrissa Gueye preferred in the starting lineup.

Now West Ham are interested in bringing the 31-year-old back to the Premier League this summer, but they face stiff competition.
Sport say that Atletico Madrid, Newcastle and Aston Villa are also interested and they claim that it is ‘very likely’ that the midfielder will leave Paris at the end of the season.
Depth
One thing that everyone and their dog knows about this West Ham squad is that they’re severely lacking in depth currently past their first eleven.
It could be the thing that ends up costing them a place in the Champions League, and that could affect their ability to sign top class players to strengthen going into next season.

But as Wijnaldum gets older and it becomes more about just playing regularly, the Hammers would be the perfect sort of club for him to join and try to achieve the highest aspirations.
Adding to that central midfield area will be key this summer with Declan Rice’s future in the air, Mark Noble retiring and Alex Kral unlikely to remain at the club. Wijnaldum, who was dubbed ‘sensational‘ by Jurgen Klopp last year, would be ideal.
He would bring quality, experience, leadership, Premier League know-how and a winners mentality to the squad and would almost certainly be one of the first names on the team sheet under David Moyes.
