West Ham transfer round-up: Contact made over Juventus ace, Raheem Sterling linked

West Ham United have kicked off their summer transfer spending with a deal now confirmed for Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme.

The transfer on Wednesday (13 June) ended a couple of weeks of setbacks, with deals for various targets simply not getting over the line.

The Irons are clearly not finished there, with a number of other new names linked on the back of the Guilherme deal, including a Chelsea player.

£33.7m update emerges as West Ham make contact for Juventus ace Matias Soule

West Ham have made contact to ask about information as they aim to sign Juventus attacker Matias Soule this summer, according to Mirko Di Natale.

The Tutto Juve journalist reported on 12 June that the 21-year-old Argentine attacker will not be sold for anything less than £33.7million (€40million) this summer.

Soule spent this past season on loan at Frosinone, scoring 11 goals and providing three assists in 36 Serie A appearances.

Via Twitter, Di Natale wrote: “Only an offer of €40million (or higher) could convince Juventus to sell Matias Soule. West Ham are among the clubs that has asked for information about the Argentine talent.”

New multi-million Vitao transfer bid submitted, Internacional responds

West Ham United submitted a bid to sign Vitao from Internacional this summer which has since been rejected, according to UOL.

The Hammers tabled an initial £6.7million bid which the Brazilian side rejected alongside a £7.6m bid from Spanish side Real Betis.

The centre-back is still of interest to Tim Steidten who could return with another offer despite being turned down.

Internacional wants at least £10m for the 24-year-old with Nottingham Forest also said to be showing an interest in signing him this summer.

West Ham want Raheem Sterling transfer after surprise Chelsea update

Raheem Sterling has emerged as a surprise transfer target at West Ham after being told he is not in Chelsea’s long-term plans, according to Graham Bailey.

Speaking to TBR Football, the transfer expert said that the Hammers are “keeping tabs” on his situation should the 29-year-old winger move on from Stamford Bridge this summer.

Sterling is reportedly keen to stay put at Chelsea having rejected advances from Saudi Arabian and Turkish clubs, but a move across the capital to the London Stadium could be a move which interests him.

Julen Lopetegui is actively on the hunt for attacking players, and although Sterling wouldn’t come cheap – Chelsea paid £47.5million for him in 2022 – his signature would be a statement of intent [Evening Standard].

£20m Tammy Abraham development emerges as transfer eyed

West Ham, Tottenham and Aston Villa can all sign Roma striker Tammy Abraham for a £20million fee this summer, according to the Telegraph.

The newspaper reported via its website on 13 June that the Italian club are braced for bids for the 26-year-old England international this summer.

It’s understood that the Hammers and any other interested club can sign him for an £8million discount, given his previous asking price of £28million [The Boot Room].

West Ham eye Fenerbahce ace Jayden Oosterwolde as second summer signing

West Ham have registered an interest in Fenerbahce defender Jayden Oosterwolde ahead of the summer transfer window opening, according to Yagiz Sabuncuoglu.

The Sports Digitale journalist reported via his personal X account [13 June] that the Hammers are monitoring the 23-year-old’s current situation in Turkey.

Oosterwolde made 20 league starts as Fenerbahce narrowly missed out on the Turkish Super Lig title by three points to Galatasaray last season, helping his club to win 99 points and losing just one match.
