West Ham United make Martin Terrier ‘recruitment priority’, Rennes want £34m
West Ham have made Rennes winger Martin Terrier a “recruitment priority” this summer, but the Ligue 1 club will demand at least £34m to do business say L’Equipe.
The Hammers are in the market to bolster their attacking options this summer and have submitted bids for striker Armando Broja and Gianluca Scamacca [90min, July 15] already during the window.
But after 21 goals in Ligue 1 and three assists, the Hammers have also taken an interest in the French born attacker and could look to make a move this summer.

A report from L’Equipe (July 17) says that both West Ham and Leeds United have made the 25-year-old a “recruitment priority” for this window.
Rob Newman is said to have made several trips to watch Terrier last season and he is at the top of the club’s list for an attacker.
Reunion?
West Ham have already done business with Rennes this summer, bringing in defender Nayef Aguerd in a £30m deal and they’ll know how tough they are to negotiate with.
Terrier is clearly a top player, ending up only behind Kylian Mbappe and Wissam Ben-Yedder in the goalscoring charts in the French top flight last season.

But that winger position that he occupies isn’t one that should be looked upon as a priority this summer, and it poses the question of whether he’d be worth £34m to the Hammers.
With £30m+ being spent on Broja, a £30m bid in for Scamacca plus the money already spent and interest in a central midfielder the next priority, it seems unlikely.
Maybe Terrier wants a new deal at Rennes, or maybe the club are just trying their luck with a brief because they know David Moyes wants to reinforce the attack, but this deal feels unlikely.
