West Ham United make £30m offer to Chelsea for Armando Broja - Sky Sports

West Ham have made a £30m offer to Chelsea for striker Armando Broja and are willing to pay £25m up front, according to Sky Sports.

The Hammers have been strongly linked with the Albanian international for months, with ExWHUemployee claiming he was the club’s number one target for the summer window.

But reports recently saw David Moyes’ side linked with Italian ace Gianluca Scamacca, with a bid worth around £40m accepted by Serie A side Sassuolo.

However a fresh report on Friday night [July 15] claims that the Irons have finally made an official proposal to Chelsea for the 20-year-old forward worth £30m with £25m of that up front.

Broja is currently in the USA on tour with the Blues and picked up an ankle injury, but it’s thought to be minor. Negotiations are continuing between the clubs.

It’s about time, but West Ham are finally awake in the market for a striker. Whether it’s Broja or Scamacca, a striker looks likely to be arriving this summer.

Fans were super excited about the prospect of Scamacca coming to east London and the London Stadium, but Broja has always been the more exciting striker signing.

There is always the possibility that both could arrive, although that seems unlikely when thinking realistically. But with striker being such a priority signing, it’s great that the club aren’t standing still.

Even if the club only end up with one of them, it would be a huge improvement on current options for the club and a massive statement of intent.

Finally there is something for the fans to get excited about in that department and it looks like there is movement on the club’s biggest saga of the window. About time, if you ask us.
