West Ham United make contact over Jaden Philogene transfer amid Ipswich Town update
West Ham United have reached out and contacted Jaden Phiolgene’s representatives ahead of a potential summer transfer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast (25 June) he reported that both the Hammers and Premier League rivals Ipswich Town have made contact with the forward to understand the conditions of a deal this summer.
Aston Villa are also partly in the race as they included a buyback clause in Philogene’s original move to Hull City last summer, therefore they do have the opportunity to bring him back to Villa Park.
Although negotiations are not yet advanced, Romano admits that this could be “one to watch” in the coming weeks of the transfer window.

Although Julen Lopetegui and Tim Steidten have only made a couple of signings in the opening weeks of the summer transfer window, the West Ham pair seem to be wasting no time in trying to add to the Hammers’ attacking ranks this summer.
Although a new number nine will be a priority between now and the start of the Premier League season, the Irons don’t appear to be close to securing a centre-forward and are instead focusing on recruiting in the wide areas.
Luis Guilherme is an exciting talent but has yet to prove himself at the top level and while similar could be said about Philogene, he showed in his time at Hull last season that he has the ability to be a real difference maker at any level.
The former Villa man impressed with moments of magic throughout the campaign that caught the eye of supporters and pundits alike. If he could replicate that in the Premier League, he could be a revelation under Lopetegui.
Hopefully, the conversations with Philogene’s agent will have been positive and the Hammers will be able to advance these talks sooner rather than later to win the race for his signature.
