West Ham United make approach to sign Wilfried Zaha, bid could be submitted without delay

West Ham United have made an approach to sign Wilfried Zaha this summer after Galatasaray set a price tag ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Fotospor.

The Turkish outfit will expect to receive £10.2million for the Ivorian who they signed on a free transfer from Crystal Palace a year ago.

Gala wants to get Zaha off their books as him staying could represent a “very serious financial burden” moving into the next campaign.

The Hammers have said that if an answer is given on a move for the forward “within three days” they will then submit a bid “without delay”.

West Ham could bid for Wilfred Zaha

Considering all the interest and transfer rumours that surrounded Zaha last summer, a move to Turkey with Galatasaray did come as a surprise.

The forward had been a star man for Crystal Palace season-on-season showing no signs of slowing down despite hitting 30 years old.

A move away from Selhurst Park felt likely as he wanted to play Champions League football at some point in his career.

With that being said, a move to Turkey doesn’t appear to have gone exactly to plan despite winning the Super Lig.

Zaha, now 31, only made 13 starts this season while making an additional 17 substitute appearances, which will frustrate the former Manchester United man.

As a rotation option, on a cheap deal, Zaha could be a great piece of business by the Hammers depending on his wage demands.

He is a versatile option who could operate on either wing or as a striker and at just £10.2m could be worth the risk.
