West Ham United in talks to terminate Danny Ings contract after transfer rejection
West Ham United have informed Danny Ings he has no future at the club, according to TBR Football.
The news outlet reported on Monday (26 August) that the Hammers are in talks over terminating the 32-year-old’s contract this month.
It is understood that talks over a pay-off have been held after Ings rejected the chance to re-sign for Southampton earlier in the summer transfer window despite a deal being agreed by the Irons.
Danny Ings could be set to leave West Ham United
Ings has had very little impact in his season and a half at West Ham.
The former Burnley and Liverpool striker has scored just four times in 53 appearances across all competitions for the Hammers.
Almost all of those appearances have been as a substitute so while that does mean he’s not going to score as many goals, many would have expected him to have more of an impact in East London than he has done.
Ings’ contract expires at the end of this season when he’ll also be 33 years old.
It’s probably wise for the club to cut their losses now and allow the former England international the chance to spend the season at a different club as he starts to wind down his career at the top of the English game.

The Hammers might not be able to use the money saved from getting rid of Ings on signing someone else because while it would be a significant sum, it could be used to balance the books after what has been a summer heavy of spending.
In other West Ham news, one of Ings’ teammates has been spotted at an airport ahead of undergoing a medical.
