West Ham defender Kurt Zouma has arrived in Saudi Arabia ahead of a medical with Al-Orouba Club, according to Nawaf Al-Aqeel.

The Saudi sports journalist reported via his personal X account on Monday (26 August) that the deal has been agreed between the clubs and the player and that as long as he passes his medical later on in the day, he will sign for the newly-promoted Saudi Pro League side.

Al-Aqeel also shared an image of Zouma at an airport ahead of his medical.

Kurt Zouma to finally leave West Ham

Saudi Arabian football is obviously growing and there are some teams that not many people would have heard of who've risen to prominence in recent years.

Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr is obviously the main one.

However, not many would have heard of Al-Orouba Club ahead of this news on Monday with West Ham's Zouma set to undergo a medical there.

We doubt the ex-Chelsea centre-back will put them on the map in the same way Ronaldo has done with Al-Nassr but it kind of shows just how desperate Zouma was to leave the London Stadium to join a team no one has really heard of.

Al-Orouba Club finished second in the 2023/24 First Division League in Saudi Arabia, securing their promotion to the Pro League for this season.

They are managed by Portuguese coach Álvaro Pacheco and some of Zouma's future teammates include ex-Burnley midfielder Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson and former Fulham and Hull star Jean Michaël Seri.

It's hardly a star-studded squad but Zouma will certainly raise their profile a bit.
