West Ham United fans told to brace for Mohammed Kudus exit

Andy Dillon believes West Ham United are a “stepping stone” for Mohammed Kudus and has told fans to be ready for his departure.

Writing in his column for The Sun‘s print edition [25 October, page 50], the journalist speculated that the Ghana international’s red card incident in the Irons’ 4-1 loss to Tottenham last weekend suggests he is frustrated at the London Stadium.

With Kudus now suspended for three games and facing further punishments, West Ham could witness a repeat of the Dimitri Payet and Marko Arnautovic situations from years ago, according to Dillon.

“Mohammed Kudus has already had one ruck with West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui after being subbed at half-time against Brentford”, he wrote.

“Now he faces a three-game ban for violent conduct, plus further punishment for his actions after the red card incident in the 4-1 debacle at Spurs on Saturday.

“I can’t help but suspect there is a very talented but highly frustrated young man there who feels he isn’t getting what he deserves in a team that is massively underperforming.

“West Ham always looked like a stepping stone to bigger things for the ambitious 24-year-old Ghana midfielder.

“Fans could be heading for another Dimitri Payet or Marko Arnautovic situation unless Lopetegui turns things around soon.”

Mohammed Kudus wants West Ham United exit

Dillon could soon prove to be right as Kudus supposedly wants to leave the club and has told his agent to open talks over a transfer [Anfield Watch, 25 October].

The former Ajax man is reportedly unhappy with West Ham’s situation under Julen Lopetegui, with the team sitting 15th in the table after eight games.

A transfer to Liverpool has been mooted and that would make sense as Mohammed Salah is in the final year of his contract at Anfield.

Kudus is only in his second season with the Hammers and it would be sad to see him go if the rumours are true.

However, it has always been unlikely that the 24-year-old will be at the club for long, with so-called bigger clubs destined to come calling.

What West Ham need to avoid, though, is unrest from the player’s end as that might unsettle the whole squad, which not do any favours to the team’s hopes of climbing up the table.

In other West Ham news, this player has been named the “fall guy” for the Irons amid a poor start to the season.
