Mohammed Kudus has instructed his agents to contact Liverpool to discuss a move away from West Ham, according to Anfield Watch.

Steve Kay reported for the Reds outlet on 25 October the Ghanian star is unhappy with the struggles at the London Stadium under Julen Lopetegui and a failure to add quality signings in the summer.

As such he has reportedly demanded his representatives reach out to Arne Slot's side to explore their interest in signing him.

Kudus, 24, has scored twice in eight Premier League appearances under Lopetegui so far this term but his season has already been dogged by flashpoints.

Frustration with the way things have gone so far at West Ham will be widespread within the club and the fanbase.

But the former Ajax star's campaign so far has seen him involved in a disagreement with his manager when substituted against Brentford on 28 July, with a dressing room bust-up where the pair had to be separated subsequently denied [The Athletic, 2 October].

Then in the 4-1 loss to Tottenham last weekend Kudus was sent off for a clash with Micky van de Ven followed by striking the Dutch defender and Pape Matar Sarr in the face, in a fairly spectacular meltdown for which he has been given a three-match ban [Manchester Evening News, 25 October].

So there are signs that he is not happy with his current situation, over and above the general dissatisfaction which must be plaguing the Irons squad as a whole.

Lopetegui is deemed to be safe for now [Guardian, 21 October] and has been backed by chairman David Sullivan, but if the failings are now threatening to see the club lose one of their top stars that could change the situation quickly.

Clearly, Liverpool can't do anything until January at the earliest either way and whether they would have the budget or PSR space to make a move for Kudus remains to be seen.

But whether he goes to Anfield or not it will be an issue for the Hammers if he is anywhere but West Ham and on form.
