West Ham United close in on Jhon Duran transfer as agent drops Instagram hint

West Ham appear close to securing the transfer of Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran with his agent dropping a hint on Instagram.

Ivan Reyes, who represents the Colombia international, shared emojis of a Colombia flag and of a contract being signed.

He posted that he was in Birmingham on 4 August, where Aston Villa are from, and it seems he could be in to finalise the 20-year-old’s move to the London Stadium.

It’s understood that Reyes is desperate for Villa to accept the Hammers’ bid for the striker who’s keen on moving to the capital. [ExWHUemployee, 3 August]

Jhon Duran must hand in a transfer request amid West Ham transfer links

Duran can take several steps to potentially force Aston Villa to sell him to the Hammers, especially given their interest and his agent’s hints on social media.

Firstly, Duran could formally request a transfer from Aston Villa, which would make his desire to leave the club clear and potentially pressure the club to negotiate with interested parties.

The striker could also refuse to participate in team activities or training sessions to show his discontent and unwillingness to continue playing for Aston Villa.

This tactic, although risky and potentially damaging to his relationship with the club and its fans, could force Villa’s hand if they see that the player is no longer committed to the team.

Lastly, Duran could engage in discussions with West Ham, potentially agreeing on personal terms, which would signal his commitment to moving.

This could also put pressure on Aston Villa, as the player’s commitment to another club might lower his market value for Villa if they decide to sell him.

In other West Ham news, Arsenal and Newcastle have made late moves to hijack Spurs’ deal to secure the services of a Hammers player this summer.
