West Ham are looking to finalise a transfer for Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran ahead of Chelsea and Newcastle, according to HITC.

The news outlet reported on 22 July that Villa are looking for £35million to part ways with the Colombia international.

The Hammers are understood to be continuing talks as they aim to sign the Villa attacker this summer.

Jhon Duran will be a quality addition for West Ham this summer

The Hammers' pursuit of Duran could be a significant boost to their attacking options.

The 20-year-old Colombian striker, who has impressed at Aston Villa, brings a combination of youth and potential that could serve the London outfit well in the long term.

Duran's ability to find the net, as evidenced by his eight goals last season, could provide a much-needed injection of scoring prowess.

Moreover, signing the Colombian ahead of Premier League rivals Chelsea and Newcastle would be a coup for the club.
