West Ham: Real Betis ‘convinced’ Pablo Fornals is joining them – Fabrizio Romano

Real Betis are convinced that Pablo Fornals is set to join them from West Ham as they are just awaiting formal confirmation, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist tweeted on Friday (2 February) that all parties now believe the issues have been fixed and the move will happen for the Spanish international.

The deal is believed to be a £5.2million fixed fee plus £3.4million in add-ons as the 27-year-old attacking midfielder edges closer to a permanent exit from the London Stadium.

Done deal

It’s quite a bizarre situation that has unfolded for Fornals after it looked at one point as though his deal with Real Betis had fallen through.

But it now appears to be very much back on, with Romano’s update indicating that the move is just pending formal confirmation from FIFA.

The Spaniard has been desperate for a move since the transfer market opened after his opportunities in East London have been dramatically reduced this season.

A move to the La Liga club should present him with the chance to play more first-team football and get his career back on track.

The only disappointment, however, is that we didn’t manage to get a replacement through the door before the deadline, leaving us a little bit light heading into the next few months.
