West Ham line up £35m January bid for former Barcelona ace who’s eager for move
West Ham have had a difficult start to the season, but changes appear to be around the corner.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s appointment has reinvigorated the Hammers, as Graham Potter‘s time at the club was something to forget.
The striker issue at West Ham is something that needs to be addressed if Nuno is to succeed with his new team.
Callum Wilson has struggled for fitness, and Niclas Fullkrug has struggled for form since arriving at the London Stadium, and a new source of goals may be on his way sooner rather than later.

West Ham reignites interest in Brazilian number nine
West Ham approached Barcelona for Vitor Roque back in May 2024, while Tim Steidten was in place as Technical Director.
Even since Steidten’s departure in February 2025, the Brazilian forward has remained on the Hammers’ radar.
Spanish outlet Fichajes.Net has reported that the Irons are looking to finally bring the Roque to the club in January for £35million.
Roque’s performances at Brazilian side Athletico earned him his big move to the Nou Camp, where his career came to an abrupt halt.
A fairly uninspiring loan spell at La Liga side Real Betis ensued, with the forward managing just four league goals in his first consistent game time, after a year on the Barcelona bench.
Roque has since returned to his homeland of Brazil with Palmeiras, making the permanent move in February 2025 for around £22million.
A move back to South America has proved just what the 20-year-old needed as he looks back to his former self.
In the Brasileirao Betano, Roque has fired Palmeiras into a title race, scoring crucial goals when called upon, with no player contributing to more goals than him for the side.
His recent performances have put him back on the radar of European clubs.
Vitor Roque and Lucas Paqueta to add Brazilian flair to West Ham
Roque would be a big improvement on Spurs’ current forward line.
Stats (domestic league) | Vitor Roque | Niclas Fullkrug |
Starts | 16 | 4 |
Goals | 9 | 0 |
Shots per game | 2 | 1.4 |
Key passes | 1.2 | 1.2 |
Roque’s compatriot, Paqueta, may help the youngster to acclimatise in London if an agreement is to be reached.
Paqueta has been one of West Ham’s best players since making the switch from French club, Lyon in 2022.
His creative prowess from midfield would help get the best out of Roque, while the Palmeiras’ players clever movement up top may take Paqueta’s game to the next level.
