West Ham in ‘operation treasure’ as Douglas Luiz transfer wanted now
West Ham have started making progress this summer after raising funds from the sale of Mohammed Kudus.
The £55million raised has already allowed Graham Potter’s side to bring in El Hadji Malick Diouf, with fans finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.
Hammers supporters wouldn’t have been blamed for thinking that the transfer window had begun a few weeks ago, but David Sullivan looks to be moving fast to put any worries to rest.
West Ham have been looking for a midfielder to replace Carlos Soler after he returned to Paris Saint-Germain following his loan move.

Juventus set £34.5million asking price for Luiz
The Irons will be looking to avoid replicating their disastrous summer 2024 transfer window.
West Ham are looking at bringing in Juventus’ Luiz as Potter looks to sign a ball-playing midfielder to help him implement his style of play.
Corriere dello Sport has reported in its print edition (pg 6, 17 July) that Juventus need to sell the former Aston Villa midfielder for £34.5million to avoid a capital loss in “operation treasure”.
The Italian giants signed Luiz last season for £43.2million, but the Brazilian has yet to show the form that he displayed in England.
The situation in Turin is reportedly “thorny”, with The Old Lady needing to bring in millions this summer.
Potter’s side may be able to get the midfielder for less than their asking price, with the Italians so far struggling to attract any buyers.
It is said that intermediaries are moving quickly to find a solution, with Luiz now up for sale.
Luiz signing would bring West Ham up a level
Should Luiz sign for West Ham, he could have them competing back towards the right end of the Premier League again.

The midfielder was instrumental in getting Aston Villa Champions League football and has a great opportunity of returning to England to do it all over again.
West Ham deserves to be back in Europe, and the signing of Luiz would help them return to where they belong.
