The unhappy West Ham quartet Nuno Espirito Santo now has to make crucial decision on

West Ham United have four players who may make Nuno Espirito Santo's job a little more awkward from now until January.

The Hammers look to have had a successful summer transfer window, most notably keeping both Jarrod Bowen and Tomas Soucek.

The Irons did have to make some big sales, with the likes of Crysencio Summerville and Mateus Fernandes among others being moved on.

But there are still several West Ham players who did not get the move that they may have wanted, and Nuno now has big calls to make.

The Championship is a different breed of competition, and bumps will happen along the way.

This is why Nuno may have been let down by other club officials, who have left the West Ham boss in a predicament with four players in particular.

Two West Ham midfielders who may now give Nuno a hard time

Soungoutou Magassa was unable to secure a move away from West Ham this summer, despite making his feelings known.

The midfielder was last seen in a matchday squad in the 4-1 win in the Carabao Cup over Southampton, where he was the only player spotted not thanking the fans for their travelling efforts after the match.

West Ham rejected several offers for Maggasa, despite him clearly not being in Nuno's plans.

Edson Alvarez looked finally set to leave the London Stadium this summer, and came close to joining his former side Ajax after talks fell through with Koln.

The Mexico international was unable to get either deal over the line, and despite talks around a last-ditch move to Turkey after the English deadline, that will not be happening now either.

Both Alvarez and Magassa are now expected to stay at West Ham until the January window at the very least.

West Ham make progress on another player amid Alphonse Areola latest

Alphonse Areola had been in most of West Ham's matchday squads to start the season, but has not featured since a defeat to Charlton in E20.

The veteran shot-stopper has now seemingly lost his place on the bench to Rush Green product Finlay Herrick, with suggestions that he wanted to leave the club before the deadline.

Areola will no doubt be on big wages, and Nuno now has to figure out what to do with the 33-year-old.

West Ham are reportedly in talks to terminate Maxwell Cornet's contract after a failed £17million move to the London Stadium.

The winger has never featured under Nuno, and the club are now looking at the only resolution to take the Ivorian of his hands.

All four of Cornet, Areola, Magassa and Alvarez do not look like they want to be at West Ham, but the club cannot simply terminate each of their respective contracts, leaving Nuno with a headache.
