Jean-Clair Todibo official update shared amid West Ham United transfer talk
West Ham United target Jean-Clair Todibo is one of the players Nice manager Franck Haise has question marks over in the transfer window.
Speaking to Get French Football News after Nice’s pre-season friendly against Lussaune-Sport on 10 July, Haise said he was unsure if Todibo would be at the club much longer this summer.
The Irons are one of several clubs chasing Todibo so far in the window, alongside Manchester United, but reports have suggested that the centre-back could instead hold out to secure his ideal transfer switch [Jonathan Johnson, 4 July].
Haise said post-match: “I know full well that in 15 days or a month there are players that will no longer be here or players that will arrive.
“For now, Jean-Clair is working well, he is very serious. I have no issue with playing him because perhaps he will stay at Nice, we don’t know,”.
Jean-Clair Todibo remains high on West Ham United transfer list
Despite having already bought Wolves captain Max Kilman for a £40million fee, they remain extremely keen on Todibo with Julen Lopetegui keen to build a strong foundation in defence next season.
Centre-back was one of six main areas which the Spaniard felt needed attention even before being appointed as Hammers manager, and making another headline signing would be a big statement [Evening Standard, 8 May].

Going up against Manchester United for the 24-year-old shows how serious the Irons are, particularly given both Nice and the Red Devils are now at least part-owned by the same parent company, INEOS.
If Todibo is waiting for a better bid from a bigger club to come along, Lopetegui could be forced to look elsewhere, but with Nice seemingly open to selling their star defender, a bigger offer may tempt them.
The Hammers have shown they’re capable of hitting new heights when it comes to buying centre-halves already this summer, and going back in for Todibo would show they’re willing to go even higher.
