Jarrod Bowen ‘too good’ to stay at West Ham, already left it years too long to leave
Jarrod Bowen should have left West Ham long ago and should be playing in the Champions League, according to Danny Murphy.
The Irons star has regularly been linked to a move away from the London Stadium, especially since the club’s fortunes took a nosedive in the final campaign under David Moyes.
Bowen is again being linked to a West Ham exit ahead of the January transfer window. Bowen has long been tipped as a potential Liverpool signing when Mohamed Salah leaves.
And Bowen is thought to be willing to leave West Ham if they are headed for relegation – the Irons remain in the bottom three with 10 points despite back-to-back victories over Newcastle and Burnley ahead of the international break.

Danny Murphy certain Jarrod Bowen should leave West Ham
During a phone in live on talkSPORT where a caller argued the West Ham star’s case in comparison to Arsenal counterpart and England starter Bukayo Saka, Danny Murphy made clear he thought Bowen should no longer be at the London Stadium.
He said: “Bowen’s a super talent and to hit the numbers that he has done in a team that’s generally struggled, and is not as talented as Arsenal, is incredible.
“I’ve been banging the drum about Bowen for a long time, he’s a Champions League player”.
Asked if he was better than West Ham and whether he should move, Murphy scoffed and replied: “Oh, yes. Yes. Should have two, three years ago… He can play anywhere, he’s that good.”
The ex-Liverpool man agreed that Bowen matches up against the Arsenal star well in terms of numbers, but while clear he would take the Irons star to the World Cup Murphy isn’t sure whether he would use him or Chelsea’s Cole Palmer off the right if Saka couldn’t play.

On paper Bowen exit is nailed on but Irons hope remains
Even the most ardent Irons these days would be hard pressed to begrudge the 28-year-old a move if it gives him the chance to lift more trophies, play in the Champions League, and cement a place in Thomas Tuchel’s England side.
All that looked to be on the cards at West Ham just a couple of years ago, which is what arguably makes the situation different to when former skipper Declan Rice left for the Gunners, but the decline since lifting the Europa Conference League under Moyes has been alarming.

For Nuno Espirito Santo it is a dangerous situation in January since it would make a relegation battle far more realistic this term to lose the undoubted star of the side, and won’t do anything for morale among others with half an eye on the exit.
But many would have assumed the attacker would have looked to leave before now so, having married into a West Ham family off the pitch, perhaps he’s content where he is unless things truly head south at the London Stadium.
