West Ham have reignited their interest in Toulouse centre-back Charlie Creswell ahead of the January transfer window.

According to talkSPORT, West Ham are keen on bringing the 23-year-old to the London Stadium after impressive performances in Ligue 1.

Cresswell has been told that he needs to get Premier League football to realise his dream of a senior England call-up.

However, David Sullivan cannot simply mess it up this time, as there was previous interest by the Hammers.

David Sullivan messed up bargain £17m move for Charlie Cresswell

Sullivan was supposed to go "all out" for Cresswell, but ultimately made himself look a fool with his haggling antics.

  • Toulouse rejected a loan offer from the Irons initially
  • They then laughed off a £13m deal after asking for £17m
  • Toulouse will most likely demand a higher fee now

The reality is that following Cresswell's good performances, the French outfit will probably demand a higher price for their English star.

Sullivan has again let West Ham down both on the pitch and financially.

However, a massive opportunity is now being presented for him to right his wrongs if he gets a deal done.

Cresswell is determined to be an England player, and Sullivan needs to actually go all out for the defender this time.

What could West Ham expect from Creswell?

First of all, Cresswell would be a major improvement on Max Kilman.

West Ham have had poor defensive displays, and Kilman has been at fault for many disastrous results.

Not only is the defender a brick in defence, but he can also score goals, having already netted three times in the league this season.

Nuno likes goalscoring centre-backs who are also smart in defence. Cresswell just so happens to be the perfect fit.
