Callum Marshall medical booked in at club abroad as West Ham loan exit imminent

West Ham United have agreed a loan deal for Callum Marshall to allow him to continue his development abroad.

West Ham have already completed the signing of Taty Castellanos from Lazio and Pablo Felipe from Gil Vicente, as Nuno Espirito Santo begins his January overhaul.

Niclas Fullkrug has joined AC Milan on loan until the end of the season, with Callum Wilson also expected to leave in the next 10 days.

Now, Marshall is set to become the latest centre-forward to depart the London Stadium, with a move to Germany closing in.

Callum Marshall set for VfL Bochum medical

Marshall has been linked with a loan move away from West Ham for a number of weeks, after falling down the pecking order at the London Stadium.

The 21-year-old has two Premier League appearances this season, coming off the bench ahead of Wilson during the Hammers’ defeats to Arsenal and Brentford.

However, the Northern Irishman hasn’t featured in a matchday squad since October, and it became clear that his progression was being stunted with the Hammers.

According to The Standard, Marshall is now set to join 2. Bundesliga outfit VfL Bochum on loan until the end of the season.

He is expected to undergo a medical on Wednesday morning, before official confirmation of the move is announced.

Nuno Espirito Santo showing ruthless edge

When Nuno replaced Graham Potter back in September, West Ham had a centre-forward department of Fullkrug, Wilson, and Marshall.

Just three months after his arrival, all three of the trio are on their way out of the London Stadium, whether that be loan moves or permanent exits.

Nuno was clearly unhappy with the quality of strikers he inherited and has shown a ruthless edge to complete the overhaul.

However, with Castellanos and Pablo now in the building, the Portuguese manager is under huge pressure to get results.

Should the two new incomings fail to hit the ground running, then Nuno will surely be dismissed.
