Callum Wilson and West Ham look set to part ways just months after his arrival.

Wilson looks set to exit West Ham on a free transfer, with the Irons ready to rip up the contract that he signed in the summer.

Nuno Espiritio Santo has opted to play without a recognised striker, rather than using the ex-Newcastle forward, and it seems as though both parties want to move on as soon as possible.

Wilson has struggled to have an influence since moving to the London Stadium, and he may have a new club in the very near future.

Wilson could move to La Liga after West Ham exit

West Ham flop Wilson may not have to wait long to have a new club, with a La Liga club already trying to sign him.

A report from Fichajes on 6 January claims that Sevilla want to bring Wilson to Spain after the news that the Hammers were set to terminate his contract.

It states that the seven-time Europa League winners are seeking an "immediate arrival" with experience to strengthen in a crucial phase of the campaign, and that the veteran is a target.

Why Sevilla could be a good move for Wilson

Wilson has not succeeded in East London, but that does not necessarily mean that he is a bad player.

He may find that he is better suited to the slower pace of Spanish football, as injuries have taken their toll on him over the years, with his pace declining significantly.

He has still shown a knack for finishing for the Hammers at times, with four goals in 18 appearances since joining the club, but it has not been frequent enough to make the desired impact.

The 33-year-old will be determined to show that he still has something left in the tank, especially after it did not work out in E20, after the Londoners took a chance on him.

Hammers fans will not miss him, but perhaps he can forge out a solid swansong in Andalusia and put a miserable chapter of his career behind him.
