West Ham to take step closer to Kobbie Mainoo signing as Manchester United line up replacement
Kobbie Mainoo could take a step closer to becoming a West Ham player.
West Ham have showcased an interest in Mainoo as frustration continues to build around his time under Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.
The Hammers are in desperate need of fresh faces after what has been a difficult start for Nuno Espirito Santo at West Ham.
Nuno could be handed a sizable budget at West Ham with a view to adding to his squad once the January transfer window opens.
Mainoo could become one of those winter signings, especially with Man United looking set to replace the midfielder.

Manchester United line up Kobbie Mainoo replacement
West Ham want Mainoo on loan in the upcoming window, but will undoubtedly face stern competition for his signature.
There are sides throughout the Premier League and beyond that will want the Englishman, but a move to the London Stadium could be enticing.
It doesn’t appear that there are any doubts over his exit from Old Trafford as preparations continue for the Red Devils’ upcoming clash against Tottenham.
Steven Railston reported on Friday that Mainoo hasn’t been seen travelling with the Man United squad to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The journalist has also suggested that United academy prospect Jack Fletcher will come into the squad to replace the Hammers target.
This could prove to be the perfect opportunity for Nuno and Co. to step in and bring the Englishman to East London ahead of all competition.
West Ham can take advantage of Mainoo uncertainty
West Ham have been a basket case of a club in recent years, but the signing of Mainoo would break that mould.
The youngster may be out of favour at Old Trafford, but that is more down to his position and the lack of space for a box-to-box midfielder in Amorim’s system.

The Irons could greatly benefit from the addition of a midfield option with the ability to get up and down, which has been hard to come by this season.
Alongside the likes of Mateus Fernandes and Freddie Potts, Mainoo could be an ideal addition.
There may be just under two months until the transfer window opens, but the Irons must now take advantage of the situation to position themselves at the front of the queue.
