Kobbie Mainoo has sent a message after Divin Mubama confirmed his transfer from West Ham United to Manchester City.

The 19-year-old took to his personal Instagram on Thursday (29 August) and posted a picture of himself in his Manchester City gear, writing the caption "new chapter".

And among the comments was Manchester United sensation Mainoo, who showed his support by posting a red heart.

Mubama was offered a brand-new contract at the London Stadium but decided to leave, which entitled West Ham to a compensation fee. Man City have paid the Hammers £2million, as per FA rules for homegrown players (via Manchester Evening News, 29 August).

West Ham ace Divin Mubama leaves the London Stadium and joins Manchester City

At one point Mubama was seen as a top talent at the London Stadium. It appeared as though the Hammers were keen to keep hold of the striker, evident by the fact that he was offered a new contract.

However, he has opted to leave the club, and will no doubt feel as though he made the right decision after signing for the Premier League champions.

While it might be difficult to break into the first team at Manchester City, he wasn't getting many first-team minutes at the London Stadium. Therefore, it is no surprise that he opted to move away from the club in search of a fresh challenge.

More eyes will be on Mubama now that he has joined Pep Guardiola's side.

And while he is no longer a West Ham player, supporters at the London Stadium are likely to wish him well after he rose through the ranks at the club.
