West Ham need more than just signing Alberth Elis to solve attacking problems
West Ham are interested in signing French club Bordeaux striker Alberth Elis in the ongoing transfer window, according to Diez.
David Moyes is looking to sign a backup for Michael Antonio this summer who had fitness problems in the previous campaign, with no real back-up in place.
The Irons have been linked with a host of strikers in the ongoing campaign, including the likes of Chelsea’s Armando Broja and Villarreal’s Arnaut Danjuma.

On the other hand, the report suggests that Elis has been on the radar of three clubs in the Premier League, including the likes of Newcastle and Leeds United.
New Adama Traore
Apart from what he brings on the pitch, Elis can also be an important asset to the dressing room. His personality draws comparisons with the likes of Adama Traore at Wolves against whom the opponents are always afraid of.
In the recently concluded season with Bordeaux, the Honduras international scored nine goals and provided one assist in 20 Ligue 1 appearances [Transfermarkt].
When he is on the pitch, there is no way that the opposition defenders will bring the line up because his pace and trickery can unlock any defence when it clicks.

The San Pedro Sula-born doesn’t just play the centre-forward role. He can also play on either side of the wing because of his threatening pace.
In terms of the squad, Moyes knows that, unlike the previous European competition, he cannot go into Europe this time with only one recognised striker.
While Elis will be a good option but he will only be good enough as a squad player and West Ham should be looking for more options going forward.
