Thomas Frank stance on West Ham United switch shared as Brentford exit mooted
West Ham United supporters will be hoping that Julen Lopetegui and his side have finally turned a corner at the London Stadium.
While the Irons’ display was far from perfect against Manchester United on Sunday (27 October) the Hammers managed to get over the line and claim all three points thanks to goals from Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville.
Lopetegui has won both of his last two matches at the London Stadium, having failed to win any of his first three and helped the Irons move seven points clear of the relegation zone after nine matches.
Will West Ham sack Julen Lopetegui at the London Stadium?
The Spaniard appears to be safe from the sack at this moment in time [Florian Plettenberg, 26 October], but that hasn’t stopped the discussion around his potential replacements in East London.
One man who has been backed to succeed the former Real Madrid manager is Brentford boss Thomas Frank.
Sky Sports broadcaster Dougie Critchley (10 October) had suggested the Danish manager would jump at the chance to leave the Bees to take over the reins at West Ham, but Frank himself may have just revealed his stance on a move to East London.
Amid links with the Manchester United job he was quoted by BBC Sport (28 October, 15:04) saying: “I’ve got a big responsibility to Brentford Football Club, the fans, the leadership, players and staff. One focus is to beat Sheffield Wednesday in the Carabao Cup.
“I’m very happy here, one of the best clubs in the world. What happens in the future who knows, but I am very happy here. Right now I’m just here and enjoying life here.
“I always try to be as transparent as possible, I am very happy here and I can see myself being here for a long, long time in the future. I just want to focus on Sheffield Wednesday, get on with the game, try to win.”
Will Thomas Frank exit Brentford amid Manchester United links?
While Frank was never going to admit in a public press conference that he was looking to jump ship and leave Brentford, it doesn’t seem as though he is in any rush to take on a different job.

He seems happy at the G-Tech Community Stadium and unless he is made an offer he simply cannot refuse, it is hard to see why he would opt to join another Premier League side.
Whether West Ham were genuinely keen to secure his services or not, it appears as though Frank wouldn’t be open to the move across London anyway, at this time.
