Andy Irving’s days are numbered at West Ham as contract development emerges at Rush Green
Andy Irving could now face an uncertain future at West Ham ahead of the January window.
The Scotland international started in central midfield last time out as West Ham lost 2-1 to Leeds United at Elland Road.
Wrexham showcased interest in Irving over the summer, but the 25-year-old surprisingly remained in East London.
Irving may have looked impressive under Graham Potter, but that sentiment hasn’t continued with Nuno Espirito Santo now in charge at the London Stadium.
The future may not look bright for Irving with the Hammers after the latest contract update at Rush Green.

Mohamadou Kante could become first-team star at West Ham
Mohamadou Kante is a bright prospect at West Ham and has already been central to calls to feature in the first team this campaign.
The shoddy performances of Irving, Guido Rodriguez and Tomas Soucek have caused widespread frustration among the Irons faithful.
Freddie Potts has been severely underused, as both Potter and Nuno have shown greater loyalty to more experienced heads.
After a terrible start to the season, the E20 club could now change tack and trust in their young talents.
Kante could benefit from this as much as anyone after West Ham confirmed he had penned a new contract on 27 October.
The 20-year-old has secured his London Stadium future until 2031 and may have assurances of progression into the senior set-up as part of this deal.
Should that be the case, it could represent the beginning of the end for Irving as the January transfer window looms.
Who could Andy Irving join in January?
Should the youngster signed from Paris FC take up a spot in the first-team squad, the Scot could be the man to face the axe.
Irving should have little complaint with this, given the level of performances he has put in since becoming a regular feature in East London.
West Ham’s number 39 has never been a regular and could be better suited to the Championship than the Premier League.

If he leaves the Olympic Park, it’s likely Wrexham could once again show interest, but they could face competition from a Scottish Premiership outfit like Celtic.
It will be interesting to see how Nuno assesses the situation as he looks to take charge of his first window in charge of the Irons.
