West Ham’s plans to expand the London Stadium are still on track
West Ham have submitted two planning applications as they look to expand the capacity of the London Stadium from 60,000 to 62,500, according to Claret & Hugh.
However, there have been some “minor” planning issues that have pushed back the completion of the work, but the club are still “confident” that they can secure planning permission later in the year.
Claret & Hugh add that if all goes well, the Hammers should have permission before the new year in a move that will make the London Stadium the third-biggest in the Premier League behind Old Trafford and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Slight blow for West Ham
The Hammers might have hoped to have permission granted by the start of the season, but that is now not possible, which is a shame.
However, it does seem as if the expansion will happen at some point this season, which will be good for West Ham and should increase their revenue and allow more fans into the ground to watch their side.
These plans were also first mentioned a while ago, so waiting just a few more months isn’t too bad in the grand scheme of things [West Ham’s official site].

The important thing from this update is that the plans haven’t been rejected, they have just been slightly postponed, and the Hammers seem confident that the stadium expansion will be approved by the end of the year.
So we will have to wait and see what happens, but there doesn’t seem to be a lot happening with regards to the expansion of the London Stadium for now.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers are keen on one regular starter from Barcelona.
