West Ham United keeper Fabianski dedicates key moment to Mark Noble after Manchester City draw
West Ham goalkeeper Łukasz Fabiański has dedicated his penalty save against Manchester City to Mark Noble after the midfielder’s last home game for the club.
The Polish goalkeeper saved Riyad Mahrez’s second-half pen to halt City’s march to the Premier League title and boost West Ham’s Europa League qualification hopes.
However, Fabianski was quick to dedicate his crucial save to out-going club legend Noble who said his farewell to the London Stadium on Sunday [15, May].
Talking to West Ham’s official website, Fabianski said: “I think it was more for Nobes than for me.
“It was a difficult penalty save and I was very happy to help the team in a difficult moment.”
He added: “West Ham is in his blood.
“He cares so much about this Club and it’s been an absolute pleasure to share a dressing room with him.”
Regulars in Europe
The point for the Irons takes David Moyes’ side to within two points of sixth-placed Manchester United and within touching distance of Europa League qualification
The Hammers have enjoyed an upward trajectory in recent years under the stewardship of David Moyes and for that to steadily continue they will have to be competing in Europe.
The club’s pulling power will be massively improved if the Hammers can beat Manchester United to sixth spot.
West Ham have been linked with plenty of big names in recent weeks and these could well be realistic targets if they can embark on another European adventure next season.

Furthermore, Declan Rice would be far more inclined to remain at the London Stadium if the Hammers are competing at a high level consistently.
It will be refreshing to see West Ham snatch sixth spot off of United.
The Hammers’ season has been one to remember with their memorable Europa League run.
If they were to come away with merely Europa conference League qualification then it would be a tough one to take for the Irons.
