Jesse Lingard sends emotional message to Mark Noble after the West Ham captain's London Stadium farewell

Jesse Lingard has sent a message to Mark Noble after the midfielder made his final home appearance for West Ham on Sunday [15 May]

The former Hammers loanee, who made a huge impression during his time at the London Stadium, paid tribute to Noble on Twitter.

Noble has been at West Ham since 2004 and was given a send off by the West Ham faithful after their 2-2 draw to Manchester City

Lingard tweeted: “Hope the legend Mark Noble has a great send off today to mark an incredible career.

“He took me under his wing and taught me so much in a short space of time.

“Good luck for the next chapter, Mr West Ham.”

Big day in Brighton

Noble will be hoping to sign off with another achievement for the club by securing Europa League qualification at Brighton on Sunday [22 May].

The Irons could be celebrating another Europa League qualification at the Amex if results go their way.

Qualification for the Europa League would top off a wonderful season for David Moyes’ side.

Consistently reaching the top six is the kind of progression that Hammers fans want to see after their much-maligned move to the London Stadium.

Regularly featuring in the Europa League is a stepping stone for the club to eventually be competing in the Champions League.

With Moyes at the helm and the infrastructure at the club, there is no reason why the Irons cannot be amongst the Premier League’s top six.

Furthermore, the club’s recruitment has been spot-on.

Jarrod Bowen, Tomas Soucek and Said Benrahma were picked up from the Championship or lesser leagues and have gone on to be huge successes.

The Hammers’ clash in Sussex will be a tough test against Graham Potter’s in-form seagulls.

Regardless, the Hammers will be motivated and certainly have the quality to pick up all three points at the Amex.
