West Ham want to sign Mouctar Diakhaby
West Ham United have identified Valencia defender Mouctar Diakhaby as a potential signing this summer.
90min have reported on their website that the Irons have a real desire to strengthen their defence ahead of the Europa League.
Diakhaby has Champions League experience and is among three names that could arrive at the London Stadium.
Other names include Kurt Zouma and Mykola Matviyenko.
The Irons have let go of Fabian Balbuena, and with injuries a big matter last season, it would be smart business to replace him.
Angelo Ogbonna suffered numerous problems, and with more games on the calendar, strength in depth is a big thing.
Sky Sports reported on Thursday that the Irons have opened talks over Zouma with Chelsea so that one appears to be further down the line.
Diakhaby is among a number of names on the shortlist, and this is a real sign that we are picking up speed.
It looks likely that Zouma is the number one target, and talks are open, but with our track record, it is smart to have backup options.
Valencia are unknown whether or not they would be open to the sale of the 24-year-old, but with cash available to spend, it shouldn’t be a problem.
Moyes wants reinforcements ahead of added games to the schedule, and signings in defence, midfield and attack would be handy.
Diakhaby, Zouma and Matviyenko have been mentioned, and it looks as though one of those three names will be coming through the door.
All eyes are on this one.
