West Ham want to sign Charles De Ketelaere from Club Brugge
West Ham want to sign 20-year-old forward Charles De Ketelaere from Club Brugge, according to a report from Calciomercato in Italy.
They claim that the Irons, along with AC Milan and Napoli, want to bring the versatile forward to the London Stadium at some point.
There is no suggestion about a possible January move, but it does seem as if the Irons are keen on the Belgian international and could make a move for him.
West Ham to get the striker they need?
We all know that the Hammers need another striker and though they have been linked with a move for Andrea Belotti [West Ham Fans.org], could De Ketelaere be the man for them instead?
Given that he is just 20, he has made 84 senior appearances for Brugge, has played in the Champions League and scored for Belgium in their Nations League defeat to Italy at the weekend.
Now, that is some pretty good experience for De Ketelaere to have already, and it suggests that he has a bright future.
Michail Antonio is David Moyes’ number one striker, but could this lad be the ideal backup for him?
He could take a bit of time adjusting to the Premier League and could provide a good foil for Antonio while also adjusting and perhaps eventually replacing the 31-year-old.
So, there seems to be a lot going for De Ketelaere, and we believe that he could be the ideal candidate to join the Irons and become the backup for Antonio.
So, this could be a transfer for all Irons fans to keep an eye on as the January transfer window approaches.
