West Ham want to sign Antonin Barak this summer
West Ham United are “very hot” on the heels of Hellas Verona midfielder Antonin Barak this summer.
Larena have reported on their website that the Czech international is also on the radar of Eintracht Frankfurt.
It is suggested that the Irons are willing to offer more than the Germans, with £10.2million on the table.
West Ham have kickstarted their transfer business as we close in on the final month of the window.
Alphonse Areola has officially been announced at the London Stadium, and other talks are starting to progress.
The news of Barak has been joined by Kurt Zouma of Chelsea, leaving the final third as the only area without any links as of yet.
Hellas Verona have three prized assets, and it is reported that only one of them will be allowed to leave – something which may force the club to move quickly.
Areola is done, now all eyes will move to Zouma and Barak.
Midfield is an area that needs more depth desperately, especially after the end of last season when the likes of Declan Rice, Mark Noble and Manu Lanzini were all injured.
That left Tomas Soucek as the only central midfielder, and bringing in someone such as Barak would be perfect.
David Moyes will be keen to get his dealings done before the season starts, especially with Europe as well, and this is a good start.
It has taken far too long to get to this stage, but as long as it gets done, we can’t have too many complaints.
